December - presents!

December! Lots of gifts! In Holland we celebrate Sinterklaas, a kind of Santa Claus, but with as strong catholic background. Sinterklaas was a bishop from Turkey. I went to see his grave in the place of Demre. But the story our parents want us to believe is: he lives in Spain, he travels by boat to Holland, together with his Zwarte Pieten, some kind of black slaves, to see if Dutch children have been good. Children leave their shoes next to the chimney. Zwarte Piet climbs on the roof, lowers himself into the chimney, leaves the presents, and everybody is happy. I found some nice presents from the past. What to think of: the Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab? Read and weep: "For a mere $49.50, the kit came complete with three "very low-level" radioactive sources, a Geiger-Mueller radiation counter, a Wilson Cloud Chamber (to see paths of alpha particles), a Spinthariscope (to see "live" radioactive disintegration), four samples of Uranium-bearing ores, and an Electroscope to measure radioactivity."
It's unclear what effects the Uranium-bearing ores might have had on those few lucky children who received the set, but exposure to the same isotope—U-238—has been linked to Gulf War syndrome, cancer, leukemia, and lymphoma, among other serious ailments. Even more uncertain is the long term impact of being raised by the kind of nerds who would give their kid an Atomic Energy Lab.
The kit was on sale in 1951, for a few months. Maybe they introduced it again in London ...

Aquele beijo ....

Gal Costa. One of Brazil's most popular singers. In this video she sings 'Fotografia' written by Tom Jobim. Another romantic song. One of my favorites: You and me, together, alone on this terrace by the sea. The sun slowly sinks into the ocean and your eyes have the color of the sea. You are leaving later in the evening. The sun disappears. And we listen to a song. Every song should be about love and desire. And about that one kiss ... on the terrace. Just before you go away ... that one kiss ... aquele beijo ...

Bebel Gilberto - Sooooooooo Nice

It's no secret I consider Brazil my second home. In fact I want to live there. The sooner the better. The only problem is Brazil is not so keen to host foreigners. It's a pain in the pants to get a permanent visa.
Bebel Gilberto is maybe one of the most European singers in Brazil. In fact, most Brazilian singers we know are unknown in Brazil. Bebel is known in Brazil, Europe and the US. This song, So Nice, brings back really sweet memories. Very sweet memories.

Anal bleaching - the newest trend?

Saw a documentary on television yesterday. Some sort of female porn star, all fucked up because of plastic surgery, wanted to be 'perfect', so she had her asshole bleached. Good for her. But doing a search on 'anal bleaching' I ran across some really peculiar stuff. Read and weep:
Anal bleaching is just one of a wide variety of new non-invasive procedures that assist in creating Total Colo-Rectal Beauty.
And what about this:
If you’re tired of looking at a pulsating mini-me of the Giant Caves of Borneo in a UPS delivery truck color scheme, imagine what others think when they view your well-used and discolored Portal of Secrets.
PORTAL OF SECRETS!!!! My gawd ... imagine what others think when they view your well-used Portal of Secrets. OTHERS? VIEW? WELL-USED?

Dead artist Tupac offered timeless words of wisdom to his “posse” after being asked what it took to have attractive women surround one. His answer was an elegantly simple reply: “Do some sit ups and wash your ass.” That should do the trick too I guess.

Come to think of it ...

Everybody loses hair. So everybody also loses pubic hair. I would suggest I lose on average 2 pubic hairs a day. That equates to 730 on average annually. With the average life span being 75 years and the fact that we only had pubic hair for say 62 of those years it would be fair to say that a person living an average life span will shed 45,260 pubic hairs. That's a lot of pubic hair. Do you know what the scary part is? There are 6 billion people on earth at the moment. That means on average, 12 billion pubic hairs are set free within a 24-hour period. It is mind boggling to calculate how much pubic hair is dispersed into the world on a yearly basis. So how much pubic hair is laying around the world at any given moment of time?
